Matchup to Watch
Jeff Teague vs. Kemba Walker: The Hawks’ abundance of outside shooting makes it difficult for opposing defenses to give help against Teague’s drives to the rim.
Observations
▪ Having wrapped up the Eastern Conference’s top playoff seed, the Hawks don’t have tangible stakes right now. But that didn’t deter them from blowing out the Phoenix Suns Tuesday in Atlanta.
▪ Two Hawks reserves – Pero Antic and Thabo Sefolosha – were arrested in New York City early Wednesday, charged with obstructing governmental administration. This was at a nightclub after Indiana Pacer Chris Copeland was stabbed there.
Tap-ins
▪ The Hornets have a 2-1 record against Atlanta. They benefitted from playing the Hawks the day after that franchise clinched the top seed in the East. The Hawks played none of their normal starters in that game.
▪ The Hawks have won a franchise-record 59 games this season and are 34-5 at Philips Arena.
Did you know?
The Hawks average 25.8 assists, second-best in the NBA.
