▪  An NBA spokesman said Monday the league is aware that Charlotte Hornets minority owner Nelly was arrested over the weekend in Tennessee on drug charges. The league is monitoring the situation.

▪  Rapper Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes, bought a small percentage of the then-Charlotte Bobcats several years ago. His attorney told Associated Press that Haynes will be exonerated.

▪  Guard Troy Daniels has some things worth developing this summer with the Hornets. He’s got shooting range on a team desperate for that skill.

▪  Monday was the last game of the season for SportSouth broadcasters Steve Martin, Dell Curry and Stephanie Ready, because Wednesday’s season-closer in Toronto is on ESPN.
