Want to sit closer to the action at Hornets games? The team says it has a deal for you
The Charlotte Hornets are offering a new, reduced price as part of their 2020-21 season ticket launch Monday.
The NBA team is offering lower-level season tickets for around $1,200, which is an average of $29 per game, team officials said Friday. The same season ticket currently costs $2,100, said Hornets President Fred Whitfield.
The deal is available for a limited time, though Hornets officials have not determined when it will end.
The franchise’s goal is to bring more fans to the lower bowl.
“We feel that provides another level of excitement, not just for the fans, but it really energizes the players,” said Whitfield.
Customers who currently hold season tickets will also be allowed to move one area closer to the court at no extra cost, when there is availability.
The new season ticket price is among the cheapest in the NBA, according to the Hornets. The package includes 41 regular season and two preseason games at the Spectrum Center.
Season ticket-holders are also part of the “Swarm365” membership, which includes concession and gear discounts, access to exclusive events, a private entrance and playoff priority.
The team has around 10,000 full-season ticket holders, which is typical for the league, officials said. The average game draws a crowd of around 16,500 to the 19,000-seat capacity stadium.
