Matchup to Watch
Al Jefferson vs. DeMarcus Cousins: These are two of the best low-post scoring big men in the NBA. What they do is becoming somewhat a lost art.
Observations
▪ Injured Hornets P.J. Hairston (quadriceps contusion) and Cody Zeller (ankle strain) both practiced Sunday. They are listed as questionable for Monday’s game.
▪ Marco Belinelli, signed as a free agent by the Kings over the summer, averages just over 12 points per game. Belinelli drew some interest from the Hornets in July.
Tap-ins
▪ Kings forward Rudy Gay (strained left shoulder) missed Saturday’s game in Orlando.
▪ Rajon Rondo tied a Sacramento Kings record with 18 assists in a road loss to the Miami Heat Thursday. He is one of two NBA players averaging 10 or more assists (other is OKC’s Russell Westbrook)
Did you know?
Rondo, signed by the Kings as a free agent over the summer, already has four triple-doubles this season.
