Matchup to Watch

LeBron James vs. P.J. Hairston/Marvin Williams: Hornets coach Steve Clifford would prefer not to have to constantly use Nic Batum defensively against James. That means Hairston and Williams will each take a turn in the first half.

Observations

▪  The Hornets had a 25-0 run in the fourth quarter against the Washington Wizards, the first time that has been done in the NBA since 2010 (Spurs over Jazz).

▪  The six fourth-quarter points scored by the Wizards were the fewest ever in any quarter by a Charlotte-based NBA team.

Tap-ins

▪  Hairston was elbowed in the head in the second half of the Wizards game and did not return. The Hornets said they don’t suspect Hairston has a concussion.

▪  The Cavaliers lost in Toronto Wednesday night, making them 3-4 on the road this season.

Did you know?

The Bobcats/Hornets have lost their past 22 games versus teams for which James played in Miami and Cleveland (including a 4-0 playoff sweep to the Heat).
