NBA’s Christmas schedule
Noon: New Orleans Pelicans (9-19) at Miami Heat (16-11), ESPN: Heat’s Dwyane Wade is 9-1 in Christmas games and averages 25.8 points. It’s New Orleans’ first Christmas game since 2008, when Chris Paul was the then-Hornets’ point guard.
2:30 p.m.: Chicago Bulls (15-11) at Oklahoma City Thunder (20-9), ABC: Bulls are working through Derrick Rose’s injuries. They are also working through a coaching change from Tom Thibodeau to the more laid back Fred Hoiberg. Meantime, OKC is rolling behind stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
5 p.m.: Cleveland Cavaliers (19-7) at Golden State Warriors (27-1), ABC: The day’s marquee game and a rematch of last season’s Finals features two of the league’s biggest stars in reigning MVP Stephen Curry of the Warriors and the Cavs’ LeBron James.
8 p.m.: San Antonio Spurs (25-5) at Houston Rockets (15-15), ESPN: The Spurs have won seven straight in sprinting to the league’s second-best record. The bickering Rockets barely resemble the team that reached last season’s Western Conference finals.
10:30 p.m.: L.A. Clippers (16-13) at L.A. Lakers (5-24), ESPN: Retiring Lakers star Kobe Bryant, 37, will play in his 16th Christmas game, an NBA record. His 383 points are also the most scored on Christmas. ... The teams are meeting on Christmas for the first time since 1991.
