Charlotte Hornets Gameday: at Golden State Warriors

The Charlotte Hornets’ Kemba Walker, above, would match up against the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry, if he plays, on Monday night. The question is whether Curry will have to sit out with a bruised left shin.

Matchup to Watch

Stephen Curry vs. Kemba Walker: The reigning NBA most valuable player, Curry often plays his best against his hometown team, whether in Charlotte or Oakland. The question is whether he’ll have to sit out with a bruised left shin.

Observations

▪  The Warriors gave up all of a 26-point lead Saturday, but they beat the Denver Nuggets in overtime to extend a 34-game regular-season home winning streak.

▪  Warriors forward Draymond Green finished the Nuggets game with 29 points, 17 rebounds, 14 assists and four steals. His six triple-doubles this season leads the NBA.

Tap-ins

▪  Hornets guard Nic Batum missed Saturday’s home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. An MRI confirmed the initial diagnosis of a badly sprained right second toe.

▪  Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who has missed time after complications from back surgery, may soon return to the bench.

Did you know?

The Warriors’ winning percentage in 2015 – .857 (72-12) – was second-best in NBA history.
