Matchup to Watch

Carmelo Anthony vs. P.J. Hairston: Anthony is once again an All-Star and continues to be one of the toughest covers in the Eastern Conference.

Observations

▪  Knicks fans booed on draft night when the team drafted Kristaps Porzingis. Now they adore the big, versatile rookie who has been playing through a sore foot of late.

▪  This is the second game of back-to-backs for both teams. The Knicks played at home against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Hornets played Friday at the Orlando Magic.

Tap-ins

▪  The Hornets played in Orlando without starters Nic Batum (sprained toe) and Cody Zeller (shoulder strain).

▪  This is the only home game in a seven-game span for the Hornets. They leave Sunday for Sacramento and the start of a four-game West Coast trip.

Did you know?

Entering this season the Hornets had dominated the Knicks of late, winning six of nine meetings.
