Matchup to Watch
Devin Booker vs. Courtney Lee: Booker, who was under consideration for the Hornets’ lottery pick in June, has been one of the top rookies in this class. A terrific 3-point shooter, Booker has already had a 32-point game.
Observations
▪ Arguably the Hornets’ worst performance of this season was the 111-102 road loss at Phoenix, which broke a long losing streak for the Suns.
▪ The Suns waived veteran power forward Kris Humphries, allowing him to sign elsewhere in time to be eligible for the playoffs. Humphries reportedly will sign with the Atlanta Hawks.
Tap-ins
▪ This is the first of three sets of back-to-back games in March. The Hornets play the 76ers in Philadelphia Wednesday night.
▪ The Hornets must decide Tuesday whether to sign point guard Jorge Gutierrez to a second 10-day contract.
Did you know?
At 597 and counting, the Hornets have already set the franchise record for 3-pointers in a season. The previous record was 591 by the 1996-97 Hornets, with most of those 3s coming from Glen Rice and Dell Curry.
