Davidson outfielder’s spectacular catch No. 1 on SportsCenter Top 10

Davidson outfielder Ty Middlebrooks made a spectacular catch to preserve the Wildcats’ 12-11 baseball victory over North Carolina at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill on Tuesday, and the folks at ESPN noticed.

His play was No. 1 on the SportsCenter Top 10 plays of the day. The Wildcats led 12-5 going to the bottom of the ninth, and the catch came on the 11th batter of the inning, Logan Warmoth, on what could have been the game-winning hit for No. 21 North Carolina.

The Davidson victory snapped a 27-game winless streak in the series against the Tar Heels, and marked the Wildcats’ first victory in Chapel Hill since 1972.
