Connecticut is playing a home Sunday game for the first time since 1939. The American Athletic Conference rescheduled several games because of Hurricane Irma postponements for Central Florida and South Florida. Connecticut had been scheduled to play a road game this weekend, so its field was rented out for a Major League Soccer game. That’s why the teams are playing on Sunday. ... UConn freshman Nate Hopkins rushed for 130 yards two weeks ago. ...The Pirates are surrendering an average of 50 points a game, but they got an early lift last week from quarterback Gardner Minshew, who threw two touchdown passes against Virginia Tech.
