College basketball: Saturday’s area games to watch
SATURDAY’S BASKETBALL MATCHUPS
UTAH VALLEY at No. 1 DUKE
Cameron Indoor Stadium, Durham, 7 p.m.
Give the visiting Wolverines credit. They faced Kentucky on Friday night, then travel to Duke. Most of their starters return from last season, and they have four highly regarded recruits. Isaac Neilson, a 6-foot-11 forward, is Utah Valley’s leader.
JOHNSON C. SMITH vs. VIRGINIA-WISE
Walker Convocation Center, Institute, W.Va., 2 p.m.
The Golden Bulls play in Day 2 of the Earl Lloyd Classic at West Virginia State. Virginia-Wise has all its starters back from a 9-20 team, led by 6-7 forward Taiwo Badmus, who averaged nearly 20 points a game in 2016-17.
No. 2 QUEENS vs. NORTH GEORGIA
Centennial Center, Milledgeville, Ga., 1:30 p.m.
The Royals play in Day 2 of the Crossover Classic at Georgia College & State. North Georgia has three of its top four scorers returning from a team that shared first place in the Peach Belt Conference’s West Division last season.
