College basketball: Sunday’s area games to watch include Duke, UNC in tourney finales

The Tar Heels’ first major test of the season comes in the PK80 - Phil Knight Invitational Victory Division finals. Luke May (21.2 points, 10.8 rebounds a game) continues to pace North Carolina. Sophomore G Miles Bridges (16.3 points a game) leads five Spartans averaging in double figures.
No. 1 DUKE (7-0) vs. No. 7 FLORIDA (5-0)
Moda Center, Portland, Ore., 10:30 p.m. ESPN
After a pair of shaky performances, the Blue Devils face the Gators in the PK80 Motion finals. Guards Jalen Hudson (21.8 points a game) and Russian-born Egor Koulechov (18.0) are pacing Florida. Duke freshman Marvin Bagley III is coming off a 31-point performance Friday against Texas.
GARDNER-WEBB vs. JACKSONVILLE
Nutter Center, Dayton, Ohio, 1 p.m.
Jacksonville took a 2-3 record into Saturday’s game against Wright State. Jace Hogan, a 6-7 forward, has led the Dolphins, averaging 20 points and eight rebounds a game and shooting 55 percent from the floor.
S.C. STATE (0-5) at WINTHROP (2-3)
Winthrop Coliseum, Rock Hill, 7 p.m.
The Eagles will try to bounce back from Friday’s 34-point loss at Auburn against a Bulldog team shooting only 33 percent from the floor and averaging just 58 points a game.
