College basketball: Thursday’s area game to watch

THURSDAY’S MATCHUP

SOUTH CAROLINA (5-1) vs. TEMPLE (3-1)

South Carolina returns to the scene of last spring’s Elite Eight victory over Florida. This time, they’re playing in the Under Armour Reunion (Seton Hall vs. Texas Tech in the opener). Gamecocks sophomore forward Maik Kotsar is coming off a 16-point, six-rebound, six-assist game against Florida International. Temple is holding teams to 27 percent shooting from beyond the 3-point line.
