Coby White makes final pitch for basketball star Zion Williamson to join him at UNC
The nation’s No. 3 recruit, Zion Williamson of Spartanburg (S.C.) Day School will make his college decision Saturday at 8 p.m. Before he does, however, some of the top players in the nation made one final pitch for Williamson to join them on campus.
One of those players was Greenfield High School (Wilson, N.C.) combo guard Coby White, who signed with North Carolina. White, the leading scorer in the state, made a plea for Williamson to pick UNC in a USA Today video.
“Come join the best blue blood and the best school in the nation, bro,” White said in the video.”With me, you, Nassir (Little), and Leaky (Rechon Black) coming in, that’d be an unstoppable class .. they might as well count us in for the National Championship right now.”
Little, Black and White all signed their National Letters of Intent to play at UNC in November.
Williamson (6-6, 275) is a five-star recruit and the No. 1 power forward in the nation, according to 247Sports.
White ended his pitch by saying to Williamson: “You know we all gonna eat, we all gonna kill, but if you want to come be a winner, you know what it do – Come to UNC-Chapel Hill.”
Duke signee Tre Jones, and even the mayor of Columbia, S.C., Steven Benjamin, also appeared in the video. Williamson will pick between Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Clemson and South Carolina.
