Kevin Kuwik has been named an assistant men’s basketball coach at Davidson. Kuwik, a former assistant at Dayton, was the Wildcats’ director of basketball operations last season. He replaces Ryan Mee, who became head coach at Division III Vassar (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.).

Kuwik, 44, joins associate head coach Matt McKillop and Will Reigel on head coach Bob McKillop’s coaching staff. Kuwik also has experience at Ohio (assistant), Butler (director of operations) and Ohio State (video coordinator). He was an assistant under Dayton coach Archie Miller from 2011-17, helping the Flyers to four NCAA tournament appearances.

“Kevin has been more than superb for us,” Wildcats coach Bob McKillop said. “His assimilation and understanding of our system, in addition to the chemistry he established with our players and staff ... he embraced everything Davidson represents.”

Former Wildcats player Will Thoni replaces Kuwik as Davidson’s director of basketball operations. Thoni has been on the Wildcats staff since 2017 and was director of student-athlete development since 2016.

Aldridge signs pro contract

Former Wildcats forward Peyton Aldridge, last season’s co-player of the year in the Atlantic 10, has signed a contract with Italy’s Vanoli Cremona. Aldridge averaged 21.2 points and 7.6 rebounds last season.
