The opener of a Duke-North Carolina doubleheader on ESPN2 has the Blue Devils facing a Hawks team that is not particularly strong inside but forces an average of 17 turnovers a game. John Carroll, a 6-8 senior from Ireland, averages 18 points to lead Hartford.
WESTERN CAROLINA (2-7) at N.C. STATE (6-2)
Reynolds Coliseum, Raleigh, 7 p.m.
It’s Heritage Night, with the host Wolfpack playing its annual game in the old Reynolds Coliseum. Before the game, N.C. State will dedicate the James V. Valvano Arena, in honor of the team’s late coach. ...The Catamounts are coming off an overtime loss to nationally ranked Furman on Saturday. ...N.C. State got 19 points from guard Markell Johnson in Saturday’s 15-point triumph over Vanderbilt.
UNC WILMINGTON (4-5) at No. 16 NORTH CAROLINA (6-2)
Smith Center, Chapel Hill, 9 p.m., ESPN2
Devontae Cacok (19 points, 12 rebounds) played well Saturday as the Seahawks lost a close decision to Davidson. ...The Tar Heels, playing for the first time in a week (since shooting 39 percent in a 17-point loss at Michigan), will be without stellar freshman guard Coby White, who has an ankle injury.
SOUTH CAROLINA (4-3) at WYOMING (2-6)
Arena-Auditorium, Laramie, Wyo., 9 p.m.
The host Cowboys’ Justin James is 10th nationally in scoring (24.9 points a game). Wyoming coach Allen Edwards was coached by South Carolina’s Frank Martin in high school. The Gamecocks beat Wyoming by 16 points at home last season.
