South Carolina starting pitcher hurt in Clemson opener

The Clemson at South Carolina baseball game was delayed until 6:30 p.m. Friday night. The game was originally schedule to start at 6 p.m.

Both starting pitchers left the game early as Clemson starter Brooks Crawford allowed five earned runs in two innings before giving way to lefty Mat Clark.

Andrew Eyster hit a two-run homer for USC, while TJ Hopkins added a three-run homer with two outs. Clemson cut the lead to 5-3 on an RBI single by Michael Green in the third and trimmed the deficit to 5-4 on a sac fly by Sam Hall in the fourth.

South Carolina held on to beat the Tigers 5-4.
