Sean Miller in Columbia? The Twitter sightings are hilarious

The prospect that South Carolina might hire Sean Miller as its next men’s basketball coach has had Gamecock fans buzzing on social media for two days. That buzz took a turn for the medium rare Thursday night.

“BREAKING: Sean Miller is currently in Hall’s Chophouse with @UofSC officials,“ The Twitter account @ColaSCWatchDog posted shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday.

Some quality Columbia-centric comedy followed — with GamecockCentral reporter Mike Uva offering an interlude to report that the former Arizona coach was indeed at Halls Chophouse, a high-end steakhouse on Columbia’s Main Street. Uva has since retracted the report.

We did think these Twitter reactions to the prospect of a Miller visit were too funny not to share:
