Duke softball vs UCLA for Women’s College World Series spot. How to watch super regional
The Duke Blue Devils are among the final 16 teams remaining in the NCAA softball tournament as the postseason reaches the super regional round this week.
Seeded No. 12, Duke (44-9) travels west to play No. 5 seed UCLA (46-8) in the best-of-three Los Angeles Super Regional series beginning Friday at Easton Stadium.
The Duke-UCLA series winner advances with seven other super regional winners to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The double-elimination Women’s College World Series will be contested between June 2-10.
UCLA intel
The Bruins have played in the last six Women’s College World Series, including their 2019 NCAA championship team. UCLA is led by pitchers Megan Faraimo (21-4, 1.71 ERA) and Holly Azevedo (19-2, 1.11 ERA). Delanie Wisz (.406 batting average, 14 home runs, 54 RBI), who plays third base, leads UCLA’s offense.
The Bruins are 22-1 on their home field this season.
How to watch
The first two games of the three-game series between Duke and UCLA will be televised by ESPN2 with television plans for third game, if necessary, not yet finalized.
Game 1 begins at 11 p.m. Friday with Game 2 set for an 8:30 p.m. start on Saturday.
Both games can also be streamed via the ESPN app.
A possible Game 3 would be played Sunday. The time will be set by the NCAA after Game 2 is completed.
