Two former Clemson football wide receivers are rejoining the program in support staff roles for the 2026 season, The State has learned.

As of Thursday morning, former Tigers wide receivers Jacoby Ford and Artavis Scott are both listed in the Clemson university staff directory as offensive development coaches for coach Dabo Swinney and the football team.

Ford’s specific title is assistant wide receivers coach, and Scott will work for the team in an offensive player development role. (Scott is formally listed as an assistant offensive line coach in the directory, but that’s a typo.)

Ford, 38, was a standout wide receiver, kick returner and track athlete at Clemson and played his final two seasons under Swinney. He played three seasons in the NFL and has recently been working as a high school receivers coach in Florida.

Scott, 31, joins Clemson from Howard, an FCS program located in Washington, D.C., where he was the wide receivers coach. Scott previously spent three years on Swinney’s staff as an offensive graduate assistant from 2021-24.

Scott is reuniting with his former offensive coordinator Chad Morris, who was hired on Jan. 5 to replace Garrett Riley. Scott (Clemson’s all-time receptions leader) and Morris overlapped during the All-ACC receiver’s freshman year in 2014.

Ford will replace Drew Swinney (Dabo’s middle son) as assistant receivers coach behind lead assistant Tyler Grisham. Scott will also assist the offense.

Between Grass leaving for Samford and taking six Clemson staffers with him and the firing of two assistant coaches (Riley and safeties coach Mickey Conn), Dabo Swinney’s program experienced a significant level of staff change this offseason.

Morris was hired as the team’s new offensive coordinator, and Clemson is reportedly set to hire Corico Wright as its new safeties coach. Wright, a former Tigers linebacker, was most recently the cornerbacks coach at Delaware.

The Tigers are still finalizing their full 2026 coaching staff, but that group figures to be in place by the time Clemson starts 2026 spring practice later this year.
