NCAA men’s soccer tournament matches involving Carolinas schools
The NCAA men’s soccer tournament will kick off Thursday with four games involving Carolinas teams. Top-seeded Wake Forest, No. 2 Clemson and No. 5 North Carolina all received first-round byes and will play Sunday.
Each team in the field of 48 is looking to the College Cup, which is scheduled for Dec. 11 and 13 at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan.
Here’s a look at Thursday’s games around the Carolinas, as well as Pfeiffer’s third-round contest Friday in the Division II tournament:
Radford (14-3-2) at Charlotte (10-5-3)
7:30 p.m., Transamerica Field

Furman (8-5-5) at South Carolina (11-7-1)

Pfeiffer (21-0) vs. Young Harris, Ga. (17-3)
4 p.m., Friday, Rinker Athletic Campus, West Palm Beach, Fla.
The top-ranked Falcons will face the Peach Belt champion Mountain Lions in a third-round Division II game. …Young Harris is the region’s second seed and is led by Lewis Hilton’s 11 goals and 10 assists. ... Pfeiffer forward Nathan Regis leads the nation with 26 goals.
