Virginia’s Tony Bennett collapses on sideline
Virginia coach Tony Bennett collapsed just before the end of the first half of the Cavaliers’ game against Hampton at PNC Arena on Thursday, but was back on the bench to start the second half.
Bennett told TruTV after halftime that he had been dehydrated and “blacked out a little.”
With a little over 30 seconds before halftime, Bennett appeared to lose his balance and fall backward while standing in front of the Virginia bench. After being helped to a chair on the bench and attended by medical personnel, Bennett was escorted to the Virginia locker room with about 5 seconds to play in the half.
