C-USA tournament schedule, results and where to watch: Charlotte 49ers play Thursday
The fourth-seed Charlotte 49ers have a first-round bye in the Conference USA and will face the winner of a game between Rice and Florida International in the quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Frisco, Texas.
The 49ers (16-13, 10-8), who lost their regular season finale Saturday at Louisiana Tech, 66-43, are playing in the 12-team tournament for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
Charlotte joins regular-season champion North Texas, second-seed Western Kentucky and third-seed Louisiana Tech with first round byes.
If the 49ers win their quarterfinal game, they would play in the semifinals on Friday, potentially against the top-seed Mean Green.
The tournament is played at Frisco’s Ford Center, headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys. The tournament will have games being played simultaneously on two courts.
