Sophomore guard Cooper Robb has become the fourth Charlotte 49ers basketball player to enter the NCAA’s transfer portal.

Robb, a fixture in Charlotte’s rotation over the past two seasons under coach Ron Sanchez, was recruited by former 49ers coach Mark Price, who was fired early in the 2017-18 season.

“I would like to thank coach Sanchez and the rest of the staff for taking me in as family when they first got the job,” Robb said on Twitter. “They did not recruit me but made me feel as if I was one of theirs.”

Robb joins teammates and sophomore guards Malik Martin and Brandon Younger and freshman guard Tyler Bertram in the transfer portal. Younger left the team during the season.

Robb averaged 5.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in 51 career games with Charlotte. He started 21 games as a freshman, a year in which he missed several games with a stress fracture in his foot.

The 49ers finished with a 16-13 record in Sanchez’s second season, their first winning season since 2013-14.
