Charlotte 49ers-Duke football game moved to Oct. 31
The Charlotte 49ers’ football game against Duke will remain on the schedule, but it’s been moved to later in the season.
The ACC announced its revamped schedule Thursday morning, and it includes the originally scheduled 49ers-Blue Devils game, now set for Oct. 31 at Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham. The game was to be played Sept. 17 until the ACC decided last week that its teams would play 10 conference games and one non-conference game due to the coronavirus.
Duke elected to keep Charlotte as its nonconference foe ahead of Elon and Middle Tennessee State, who were on the Blue Devils’ original schedule.
The Oct. 31 date was the bye week for Charlotte, which has had nonconference games against Tennessee and Norfolk State canceled. Their game at home against Georgia State on Sept. 26 is still on, as is their eight-game Conference USA schedule, which is set to start Oct. 3 at Florida Atlantic. The 49ers are looking for replacements for the Tennessee and Norfolk State games.
