Charlotte 49ers’ football single-game tickets on sale Tuesday
Charlotte 49ers athletic officials say fans will have more choice than ever before when single-game football tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Several thousand tickets will be available to each of the six home games in the 49ers’ first season in the Football Bowl Subdivision and as a Conference USA member.
“We think the perception in the general public has been that our games are sold out, or that fans have to buy a PSL (permanent seat license),” said associate athletics director Tom Whitestone. “But we have season tickets, mini packages and single-game tickets.”
Nearly 5,300 season tickets sold so far, 49ers officials said.
The single-game tickets are $30 and are for reserved seats. The 49ers’ home games at Richardson Stadium are Sept. 12 (Presbyterian), Sept. 26 (Florida Atlantic), Oct. 2 (Temple), Oct. 24 (Southern Mississippi), Oct. 31 (Marshall) and Nov. 14 (Texas-San Antonio).
Options for the general public have been increased because 49ers’ officials have cut “a couple thousand” tickets from the student allotment, which had been 7,500 for the 15,314-seat Jerry Richardson Stadium during the school’s first two years of football.
In addition to the single-game tickets, fans also can buy packages to three home games, either for reserved ($90) or general admission ($60) seating.
Tickets will be on sale at the athletic ticket office behind the Barnhardt Student Activity Center, by calling 704-687-4949, or online at www.charlotte49ers.com.
Memorial Fund: The 49ers say a memorial fund has been established to help the family of Phil Ratliff, the offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator who died last week of cardiac problems. Ratliff left a wife, a daughter in college, and a high school-age son. Checks, made payable to the UNC Charlotte Athletic Foundation (with “Phil Ratliff Memorial Fund” in the memo field), can be sent to UNC Charlotte Athletic Foundation, 9201 University City Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28223, or by calling 704-687-4950.
