The Deacons wrap up their ACC regular-season schedule with a Saturday afternoon road game against the Eagles. … Wake Forest, which has secured the 11th seed in next week’s conference tournament in Greensboro, is coming off a 94-51 loss to third-ranked Duke on Wednesday. … Boston College, which has won its past two games after losing nine straight, boasts the league’s top scorer in guard Oliver Hanlan (19.4 points per game). The Mountaineers wrap up their first season in the Sun Belt with a home game Saturday against the Mavericks. … Appalachian State has won two straight, its longest winning streak since taking four straight between Jan. 17-24, and could finish as high as sixth in the league standings with a win Saturday after being picked to finish dead-last in the preseason coaches poll… However, Texas-Arlington is 2-0 all-time against the Mountaineers, including an 81-68 victory on Feb. 19. The Tigers, looking to improve their seeding in next week’s ACC tournament, take on the 11th-ranked Fighting Irish in their regular-season finale Saturday. … Clemson nearly beat Notre Dame both times the two teams have met – 68-64 in double OT on Feb. 11, 2014, and 60-58 on Feb. 10. … The Tigers are tied with Pittsburgh in the league standings, and a win Saturday could give them the No. 8 seed in next week’s tournament. South Carolina (14-15, 5-12) at Tennessee (15-14, 7-10)

The Gamecocks close out their SEC regular-season schedule Saturday with a road game against the Volunteers. … A win would give South Carolina its first six-win league season under coach Frank Martin since 2012. … However, Tennessee has won 15 straight against the Gamecocks, including a 66-62 victory on Jan. 20. … South Carolina is tied with Mississippi State for the 11th seed in next week’s conference tournament, but the Gamecocks hold the tiebreaker thanks to their 81-68 win Feb. 28. The Wildcats, tied for first in the Atlantic 10 with Dayton, can clinch the regular-season title and the top seed in the league tournament with a victory against the Dukes or a Flyers loss at La Salle … Duquesne has been playing well recently, especially at home where the Dukes have beaten Dayton and George Washington … Like Davidson, Duquesne is a good 3-point shooting team, making 7.9 per game at a 36.6 percent clip. The 49ers need to beat the Thundering Herd if they hope to climb out of the 12th and final seed for next week’s Conference USA tournament … Charlotte beat Marshall 77-72 in January in Huntington, W.Va. … Sophomore forward Ryan Taylor leads the Herd with 14.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. D.S.

Winthrop (18-12) vs. Longwood (11-22)

The Eagles go for their second straight trip to the Big South tournament championship game when they face the Lancers in a semifinal game Saturday. … Winthrop, the tournament’s No. 5 seed, advanced by edging fourth-seeded Radford 67-66 in a quarterfinal game Friday. … Longwood became the first No. 9 seed to advance to the semifinals after it knocked off top-seeded Charleston Southern 68-60 on Friday. … The Eagles won both meetings this season against the Lancers – 82-72 on Dec. 31, and 83-59 on Feb. 21. SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT

Queens (17-12) vs. Lincoln Memorial (28-1)

The Royals look to advance to their first tournament final since the 1998-99 season when they face the nationally-ranked Railsplitters in the SAC semifinals Saturday. … Queens, the tournament’s fourth seed, won its first quarterfinal game since 2012 by beating fifth-seeded Wingate 84-66 on Wednesday. … Lincoln Memorial, ranked No. 3 in the nation in the Division II coaches poll, has beaten the Royals soundly twice this season – 66-51 on Nov. 22, and 101-69 on Jan. 17. … The Railsplitters have won eight straight since their only loss of the season, 87-72 to Carson-Newman on Feb. 4. … The winner plays either No. 2 seed Carson-Newman or No. 3 seed Newberry in the championship game Sunday.
