Both tournaments feature teams with NCAA tournament experience. Three of eight teams in the Diamond Head Classic competed in the 2018 tournament: TCU, Bucknell and Rhode Island.
And five of eight teams in the Charleston Classic played in last year’s tournament: Davidson —which lost, 78-73, to Kentucky in the first round — Wichita State, Alabama, Purdue and Virginia Tech.
