Atlantic 10 tournament schedule, results and where to watch: Davidson plays La Salle
The seventh-seed Davidson Wildcats will face No. 11 La Salle in the second round of the Atlantic 10 men’s basketball tournament next Thursday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Davidson beat the Explorers 74-49 on Feb. 25 at Belk Arena, getting 22 points from junior guard Kellan Grady. The Wildcats-Explorers winner will play second-seed Richmond (24-7, 14-4) in the quarterfinals at 6 p.m. Friday.
The top four teams in the league — third-ranked Dayton, Richmond, Rhode Island and Saint Louis — received double byes through to the quarterfinals.
Dayton won 18 games in conference play, and is only the fourth team in league history to go through the league unbeaten.
The tournament opens Wednesday with two games — No. 12 George Mason against No. 13 Saint Joseph’s and No. 11 George Washington against No. 14 Fordham.
Other second-round games Thursday include No. 8 Massachusetts against No. 9 Virginia Commonwealth, No. 5 St. Bonaventure against the winner of George Mason-Saint Joseph’s and No. 6 Duquesne against the George Washington-Fordham winner.
The championship is set for 1 p.m. Sunday on CBS.
