49ers’ women’s basketball schedule includes games against Miami, N.C. State
The Charlotte 49ers’ women’s basketball team will open its season Friday, Nov. 13 at home against Ball State, the school announced Monday.
Charlotte’s nonconference scheduled is highlighted by games against Miami and N.C. State, a pair of ACC schools, and a visit Dec. 20 to play Mecklenburg County rival Davidson.
The 49ers’ Conference USA schedule tips off with three straight home games in early January against Old Dominion, Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech.
“Conference USA keeps getting stronger and stronger every year,” said Cara Consuegra, who will enter her fifth season as Charlotte’s coach. “We have shown we can compete in this competitive league and we expect nothing different this season.
“With a solid 14-game home schedule, we will have plenty of opportunities to play in front of Niner Nation, which is always like a sixth woman to our team.”
