The Davidson-Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball game, originally scheduled for Dec. 2, has been switched to Dec. 1 at the 49ers’ Halton Arena.
The change was made to avoid a conflict with the Charlotte Hornets’ home game Dec. 2 against the NBA defending champions Golden State Warriors and former Davidson star Stephen Curry.
“The change is being made to maximize exposure and accessibility for the sports fans in the Charlotte area,” according to a 49ers news release.
The winner of the game between the Mecklenburg County rivals receives the Hornet’s Nest Trophy. The 49ers lead the series 28-13, with Davidson winning the past two.
