Davidson basketball schedule features game at UNC, in New York against Pitt
Davidson’s 2015-16 men’s basketball schedule features nonconference games at North Carolina and against Pittsburgh in New York’s Madison Square Garden, the school announced Tuesday.
The Wildcats open their season at Belk Arena against Central Florida on Nov. 14, the first of a four-game home stand. Davidson, which won the Atlantic 10’s regular season in its first season in the league last season, opens conference play Jan. 2 at St. Bonaventure.
Davidson will play at North Carolina on Dec. 6 and against Pitt in the Garden Dec. 20. The Wildcats’ nonconference schedule also includes road games against Charlotte on Dec. 1 and California Dec. 28.
“Our 2015-16 schedule will again put us on the national stage as we will have the opportunity to play teams from almost every region of the country,” coach Bob McKillop said in a statement.

Feb. 3, at George Washington; 6, at Duquesne; 10, La Salle; 13, at George Mason; 16, Richmond; 20, Saint Joseph’s; 23, Rhode Island; 27, at Fordham.
March 2, at Virginia Commonwealth; 5, George Washington; 9-13, Atlantic 10 tournament (at Brooklyn, N.Y.).
49ers’ Williams signs
Former Charlotte 49ers forward Terrence Williams has signed a pro contract with Germany’s BSG Grevenbroich.
Williams, who played at West Mecklenburg High, scored 972 career points, 26th on the 49ers’ all-time list and played in 125 games, tied for second most in school history.
