Davidson’s Bob McKillop goes for his 500th career coaching victory Saturday when the Wildcats face Denison (Ohio) at 2 p.m. at Belk Arena.

McKillop, 65, is 499-300 in 27 seasons at Davidson, and would become the 92nd coach to reach 500 victories with at least 10 seasons in Division I (Michigan State’s Tom Izzo reached 500 victories Thursday). McKillop would also be the 19th coach in NCAA history to win 500 games at his first (and, for McKillop, only) coaching stop.
