Wildcats coach Bob McKillop will go for his 500th career victory (coming in his 800th career game) Saturday afternoon against the Big Red. … Davidson is off to its best start in 20 years; the last time a Wildcats team opened the season 3-0 was in 1995-1996. … Denison, an NCAA Division III program, has won its past two games. … Davidson guard Jack Gibbs, the team’s leading scorer at 26.5 points per game, will be back in the lineup after missing the Wildcats’ 77-71 win over Mercer on Monday with an ankle injury.

The Royals face a former Conference Carolina rival Saturday afternoon, taking on the Crusaders. … Queens is off to its best start since the 2006-2007 season, opening with five consecutive wins en route to a 20-10 season. … The Royals have opened with four straight wins only twice in program history; the first came in 2003-2004.

The Bulldogs close out play in the Barclays Center Classic holiday tournament with a consolation-round game against the winner between Army and Ark.-Pine Bluff, who played Friday night. … Gardner-Webb is 0-4 this season against teams from major conferences, losing to Iowa (Big 10), Vanderbilt and Tennessee (SEC), and George Washington (Atlantic 10).
