The Royals can tie the program record for best start to the season with a win over their South Atlantic Conference rival Cobras on Wednesday night. … Queens went 8-0 to open its 2003-2004 season … Campbell has lost two straight and three of its past four games after opening the season 3-0, including both of its early-season SAC games.

The Wildcats play their first game in the Gotham Classic series Wednesday night, hosting the Eagles. … Davidson is coming off its first loss of the season, 98-65 to No. 9 North Carolina on Sunday. … Eastern Washington has won two straight, beating San Francisco on Dec. 1 and Great Falls on Sunday. … Wildcats guard Jack Gibbs is fifth in the nation in scoring at 24.6 points per game; however, that’s only good for second-best in the Atlantic 10, behind La Salle’s Jordan Price (second nationally at 25.9 per game).
