Given Mark Gottfried’s frustration level with forward BeeJay Anya and the health of Lennard Freeman, don’t be surprised if the Wolfpack employs a four-guard lineup against the Canes. Miami has three players who average more than 10 points, topped by Sheldon McClellan at 16.3.

Boston College (7-13, 0-7) at No. 2 North Carolina (18-2, 7-0)

Smith Center, Chapel Hill, 4 p.m. (ESPN2)

Boston College will be without two of its top players. Jermome Robinson, the team’s second-leading scorer, reportedly will miss three to six weeks with a broken wrist and Daryl Hicks, the team’s sixth man, reportedly has a concussion. Even at full strength this has been a season to forget for Boston College. It could be a prime opportunity, then, for UNC to break out of its prolonged shooting slump and for Marcus Paige to snap out of his individual funk as well.

Clemson (13-7, 6-2) at Florida State (13-7, 3-5)

Donald L. Tucker Center, Tallahassee, Fla., noon (FSCR)

The Tigers look to continue their climb up the ACC . … They have won six of their past seven league games – three against Top 25 teams – and are third in the standings behind North Carolina and Louisville. … Florida State is coming off Tuesday’s 72-62 win at Boston College.

Charlotte (7-13, 4-4) at Florida Atlantic (5-16, 3-5)

FAU Arena, Boca Raton, Fla., 2 p.m. (WCCB)

The 49ers go for their fourth consecutive Conference USA win. After opening league play 1-4, Charlotte has beaten front-runners Marshall, Western Kentucky and Florida International. … Florida Atlantic has lost two of its past three. … 49ers center Joseph Uchebo is tied for eighth nationally in rebounding at 11.1 per game. He is sixth in offensive rebounds at 4.2 per game.

Queens (16-2, 10-2) at Carson-Newman (11-8, 7-6)

Holt Fieldhouse, Jefferson City, Tenn., 4 p.m.

The Royals, still in the hunt for the South Atlantic Conference title, visit the Eagles . … Queens has won two straight and is tied for second in the league standings with Wingate, 2½ games behind Lincoln Memorial. … Carson-Newman made a run up the standings but saw its four-game winning streak snapped in a 100-89 loss to Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday.

Radford (13-9, 6-4) at Winthrop (15-6, 7-3)

Winthrop Coliseum, Rock Hill, 4 p.m.

The Eagles, co-leaders in the Big South with High Point and UNC Asheville, have won their past six games. … Radford also is in the league title hunt, with three straight wins moving the Highlanders within a game of the leaders.

Johnson C. Smith (10-9, 5-5) at Shaw (8-12, 5-3)

Spaulding Gymnasium, Raleigh, 4 p.m.

The Golden Bulls, who share the lead in the CIAA’s Southern Division (3-1 with Winston-Salem State), are coming off a 78-73 loss Wednesday at Winston-Salem State, ending a three-game winning streak. … Shaw, tied for fourth in the division, lost at Fayetteville State 74-68 Wednesday.

Gardner-Webb (10-12, 5-5) at Charleston Southern (8-13, 4-6)

Buccaneers Dome, Charleston, 5:30 p.m.

Gardner-Webb has lost its past four games – three of those by 10 or more points – and is tied with Liberty for sixth in the Big South standings. … Charleston Southern has lost two straight and is a game behind Gardner-Webb and Liberty.

Alabama (11-8, 2-5) at South Carolina (18-2, 5-2)

Colonial Life Arena, Columbia, 6 p.m. (SEC)

The Gamecocks will look for a measure of revenge against the Crimson Tide, which ended their undefeated start at 15 games on Jan. 13, winning 73-50. … Since then, the Gamecocks are 3-1, including an 84-74 win Tuesday at Mississippi State. Alabama is 1-3 since then. But it is coming off Tuesday’s 63-57 win against Tennessee.

Appalachian State (6-14, 4-5) at South Alabama (8-12, 3-6)

Mitchell Center, Mobile, Ala., 8:05 p.m.

The Mountaineers have won three of their past four games, including a 75-71 victory Thursday at Troy and are a game behind Georgia State and Louisiana-Monroe in the Sun Belt standings. … South Alabama beat Troy 66-58 on Tuesday, snapping a two-game losing streak.
