Final Masters cut line as 2026 tournament reaches halfway point
The picture of contenders at Augusta National is becoming more clear.
By the end of Friday, a chunk of the 91 competitors in the 2026 Masters field was cut, paving the way for the top 50 (including ties) to play on Saturday and Sunday.
The cut line wrapped Friday at 4-over. Rory McIlroy (12-under par) finished with a six-shot lead over Patrick Reed and Sam Burns.
There were 54 players at or better than 4-over. Bryson DeChambeau (6-over) was the biggest name to not advance to the weekend.
Because Augusta National hasn’t gotten much rain over the last week, the course was playing firm and fast on Thursday, creating higher-than-normal scores. For instance, the cut line last year was at just 2-over. The four years prior, though, had cut lines of 6-over (2024), 3-over (2023), 4-over (2022) and 3-over (2021).
Masters cut line rules
Players with the top 50 scores and ties advance to the weekend’s final two rounds, with tee times starting around 10 a.m. Saturday. The groups, most of which featured three players each for the opening rounds, will shrink to a pair of golfers for Saturday and Sunday.
