Bryson DeChambeau among biggest names to miss cut at 2026 Masters
For a while Friday at the Masters, it looked as if two of the four pre-tournament favorites would miss the cut.
Narrowly, Jon Rahm (4-over) snuck inside the cut line and will play Saturday and Sunday at Augusta National. Bryson DeChambeau, however, missed the cut after a triple-bogey on the 18th hole dropped him to 6-over par through two rounds.
In total, 54 finished at or above the cut line of 4-over par. Rory McIlroy (12-under par) holds a six-shot lead over Patrick Reed and Sam Burns.
Not playing the weekend are the six amateurs who were invited to the Masters this year. For a second-straight year, and the third time in six years, no amateur will play the weekend or earn the lower amateur trophy.
Not a lot of notable names missed the cut this year. Other big names joining DeChambeau on the outside included:
- Former Open champion Cameron Smith (7-over), who’s now missed two straight cuts at the Masters.
- 2007 Masters champion Zach Johnson (6-over), who finished T-8 at Augusta National last year.
- Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre (7-over), notable because the No. 8 player in the world flipped off the 15th hole on Thursday after twice putting the ball in the water.
- J.J. Spaun (5-over), the reigning U.S. Open champion who won the Texas Open last week.
- Min Woo Lee (11-over), the 25th-ranked player in the world.
