No. 3 Butler (6-1, 2-0 Southwestern 4A) at No. 9 Myers Park (6-0, 1-0), Thurs, 7: Butler has won five straight games and is in first place in the Southwestern 4A. Butler has a slight lead over Myers Park and Porter Ridge (4-2, 1-0). Myers Park is trying to get in position to win its first conference title in 33 years.

No. 2 Mallard Creek (5-1, 2-0 MECKA) at No. 13 Hough (4-2, 1-0), Fri, 7: Hough ended Mallard Creek’s 38-game conference win streak last season, winning 31-28 in overtime. This year, the teams are fighting for the conference championship again with the Mavericks trying to re-establish their league dominance.

No. 10 Charlotte Latin (7-0) vs. No. 8 Davidson Day (5-1) at Hopewell, Fri, 7: This is a rematch of the N.C. Independent Schools Division I state championship, which Davidson Day won 31-13. Since losing 21-14 to SouthLake Christian in the 2014 NCISAA Division II state finals, Davidson Day has won 16-of-17 games and beaten 11 straight Mecklenburg County private school opponents.

No. 12 West Mecklenburg (5-1, 2-0 SoMeck 8) at No. 14 South Mecklenburg (4-2, 2-0), Fri, 7: The two teams are tied with Charlotte Catholic (5-1, 2-0) for first place in what is shaping up to be a very competitive league title. West Meck has won five straight. South has won back-to-back weeks after losing to Rock Hill Northwestern and Myers Park.

No. 16 AL Brown (5-1) at Concord Robinson (5-1), Fri, 7:30: A rare public school non-conference game this deep in the season finds Brown, fresh off an upset of then No. 1 Vance, facing a rival in Cabarrus County. Brown has won two in a row. Robinson has also won two straight.
