Three Mecklenburg County teams hold positions in N.C. Associated Press prep football poll

Mallard Creek, Charlotte Catholic and Butler continue to be ranked among North Carolina’s top 10 high school football teams in the 4A class.

In the latest Associated Press poll, released Tuesday, Mallard Creek was No. 2 behind Greensboro Dudley. Dudley got nine first place votes from a statewide panel of media members. Mallard Creek got four.

Butler is No. 5 and Charlotte Catholic is No. 7. All three local schools were ranked in the same spot as last year.
