Mallard Creek’s girls had a successful, if a little rocky, debut at the top of the Observer’s Sweet 16 poll.

The Mavericks were tied with Butler at halftime of their season debut on the road last week before winning 66-47. Tuesday, Mallard Creek continues in a run of seven straight road games, playing its second straight ranked team. Mallard Creek plays at Butler.
