Jaylen Stowe, Hickory Ridge boys: Mercer recruit had 29 points, nine assists, seven steals in 80-63 win against McMichael in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs.
Kennedy Boyd, Providence Day girls: The freshman point guard had a team-high 13 points and seven rebounds, plus some crucial fourth-quarter free throws, in a 36-29 victory over Rabun Gap (Ga.) in the N.C. Independent Schools 3A final Saturday.
Sarah Novroski, Lake Norman Charter girls: 20 points, 19 rebounds, four blocks in a 51-45 NCHSAA 2A playoff win against Wheatmore.
Stephanie Watts, Weddington girls: Made 10 3-point shots and scored 40 points in an NCHSAA 3A second-round win against Asheville Reynolds. The McDonald’s All-American also had six assists and six rebounds.
Grant Williams, Providence Day boys: NCISAA all-state pick had 32 points and 24 rebounds in an quarterfinal win against High Point Christian and 14 points and seven rebounds in a semifinal loss to state champ and nationally ranked Greensboro Day.
Luke Maye, Hough boys: 19 points, 22 rebounds in 69-56 win against Scotland County.
