In week of major poll shakeup, Harding, Hickory Ridge take big rides up Observer Sweet 16
There are no new teams in this week’s Charlotte Observer Sweet 16 poll, but there is a good bit of shakeup.
Three top-10 teams lost last week. That allowed Harding and Hickory Ridge to each jump five spots. Both schools are inside the top 10. Hickory Ridge beat Independence 30-15 Friday to improve to 5-0 for the first time in school history.
Harding (5-1, 1-0 SoMeck 7) bounced back from a loss to Mallard Creek to topple West Mecklenburg 45-21. West Meck fell from No. 6 to No. 12 in this week’s poll.
