Providence Day (9-2) at No. 14 Charlotte Christian (9-1), 7 p.m.: The state private schools’ Division III championship is a rematch of an Oct. 27 game won by Charlotte Christian 52-14. The Knights rushed for 456 yards in that game, so Providence Day’s defense will have to be much better this time.

North Mecklenburg (8-3) at Richmond Senior (7-4), 7:30 p.m. (4AA playoffs): Viking running back Emanuel Wilson (1,645 rushing yards, 20 touchdowns) and Richmond RB Dante Miller (1,327 yards, 19 touchdowns) are in the spotlight.

West Charlotte (5-6) at No. 13 Hickory Ridge (9-2), 7:30 p.m. (4A): The visiting Lions are having a revival season, but their defense faces a big test against the Hickory Ridge offense led by quarterback Dylan Ratliff.

Fayetteville Trinity Christian (10-0) at Charlotte Latin (7-4), 7 p.m.: Trinity QB Devon Jones has thrown for 1,455 yards and run for 1,013 yards. This is a private school Division II playoff semifinal.

Sun Valley (8-3) at No. 16 Marvin Ridge (10-1), 7:30 p.m. (3AA): Sun Valley gave the Mavericks fits in an Oct. 27 game, losing 28-20. It’s the Spartans’ passing game against Marvin Ridge’s powerful ground attack.

Newton-Conover (9-2) at No. 14 Shelby (9-2), 7:30 p.m. (2AA): Shamar Latrell Baker has thrown for more than 2,300 yards and 25 touchdowns this season for Newton-Conover. A Shelby victory could set up a second-round rematch with rival South Point.

York (9-2) at Greenville (10-1), 7:30 p.m. (S.C. 4A): Perennial state power is led by QB Davis Beville. York is averaging nearly 45 points a game in its past four contests.
