Brayden Rowland, Hickory; Daniel Hart, South Caldwell soccer: Rowland was named Northwestern 3A/4A offensive player of the year. Hart won on defense. Hickory’s Brian Jillings and South Caldwell’s Elliott Bridges shared coach of the year honors.

Myers Park field hockey: Mustangs beat rival Charlotte Catholic 3-0 in the state championship game Saturday in Forsyth County. The Mustangs, who beat Raleigh Cardinal Gibbons 4-0 in Friday’s semifinals, won the championship for the second straight year.

Mecklenburg County soccer: Providence and Hough won state quarterfinal matches to advance to Tuesday’s regional championship. Hough beat Northwest Guilford 3-0, getting goals from AJ Whisenant, Jackson Raymer and Davis Ashbrook. Hough (23-1) has won 22 straight matches and will host Providence in the state semis Tuesday. Marvin Ridge soccer: Dimitri Lavin and Hayden Green scored for Marvin Ridge in a 2-0 3A regional semifinal win over Statesville.

Devon Dotson, Providence Day basketball: 32 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in a 91-75 win over Raleigh Word of God.

Megan Frost, Myers Park field hockey: scored one goal and had an assist in the state championship win over Charlotte Catholic. Carson Dobrowski and Sarah Perkinson had the other two goals for Myers Park.

Joey Jeiger, Providence soccer: helped spark a 3-0 shutout of Porter Ridge in the NCHSAA 4A Western Regional semifinals. Jeiger and the Panthers have won nine straight matches, all by shutout. For the season, Providence has 17 shutouts and has outscored opponents 78-8. The Panthers will try to reach the championship round for the first time in 17 years.

Will Shircliff, Will Kercher, Charlotte Country Day wrestling: both Bucs went 4-0 in the Cary Academy team duals Saturdday with three pins. Shircliff wrestled at 113 and Kercher at 120. At 182, Joshiah Connors was 4-0 with two pins.

Isaac Suffren, Providence Day basketball: career-high 40 points in 91-75 win over Raleigh Word of God. He added five rebounds and two assists.
