Concord First Assembly 55, No. 2 Ardrey Kell 54: First Assembly limited the Knights to 31.7 percent shooting and Ardrey Kell made only 4-of-19 shots in a close game. Ardrey Kell lost despite outrebounding First Assembly 54-34. First Assembly got 15 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal from Georgetown recruit Courtney Meadows, 16 points from Shamani Stafford and 14 points, five rebounds and four steals from Jessyka Leak. Ardrey Kell was led by 12 poitns and 18 rebounds from D’Shara Booker.
No. 7 Providence Day 62, No. 5 South Mecklenburg 58: The Chargers were outrebouned 37-26 and didn’t shoot well, just 38.6 percent for the game, but Providence Day forced 22 Sabres turnovers to pull off the upset. MiLeia Owens had a career-high 11 points, two rebounds and two steals for the Chargers. She was 5-of-5 from the free throw line. South Meck got 14 points, five rebounds from App State signee A’lea Gilbert and 14 points, six rebounds from Jadin Gladden.

No. 10 Lincoln Charter 65, Burlington School 57: The game matched the reigning N.C. 1A public school (Lincoln Charter) and N.C. 1A private school (Burlington) state champions. Lincoln Charter ran out to large double-digit leads before Burlington made a big push in the third quarter. Burlington School (3-1) out-rebounded Lincoln Charter 32-18 but couldn’t make up the early deficit. Lincoln Charter’s Kody Shubert didn’t shoot well (6-for-18) but finished with a game-high 23 points, to go with three steals and two rebounds. Jackson Gabriel made 5-of-6 3-point attempts and finished with 17 points. Burlington’s Makiah Fox had 21 points, six rebounds and a steal, making 9-of-12 shots.
Berry 74, Charlotte Latin 70: Both teams shot very well in a back-and-forth game. Latin shot 52 percent and Berry shot 61 percent. Berry took a 27-18 lead after the first quarter but Latin won the second quarter 23-9 to grab a 41-36 halftime lead. Latin led 60-52 heading into the fourth quarter before a big Berry run. Berry got 13 points on 6-for-6 shooting from Webster Filmore, 11 points, on 3-for-4 shooting from Randy White and 10 points on 3-for-3 shooting from Darius Best. Latin got 24 points, four rebounds and two steals from JP Smith.
Victory Christian 52, South Mecklenburg 40: Victory Christian didn’t shoot well, just 36.5 percent for the game, but the Kings limited South Mecklenburg to just 23 percent shooting in a low-scoring win. The Sabres (1-3) made 11-of-48 two-point attempts and were 5-of-21 from the 3-point line. Darien Hayes had 10 points, five rebounds for South and Trey Jackson had nine points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Victory Christian got 16 points, nine rebounds, four assists from Nasan Ayala and 14 points, five steals, four rebounds and four assists from Vasileios Gkountopou.
