Vance High QB thinks he knows secret to stopping Harding and star Quavaris Crouch
Vance High junior quarterback Nigel Summerville has thrown for nearly 3,000 yards and 27 touchdowns this season. He’s helped turn what might’ve been a rebuilding season after Vance suffered some heavy graduation losses into a potential state championship year.
The Cougars play at Harding in Friday’s state semifinal, and to get to the state finals in Winston-Salem Dec. 9, Summerville knows what his team has to do: stop Harding running back Quavaris Crouch. Crouch, the nation’s top ranked junior at his position, has nearly 3,000 yards rushing.
Summerville said his team has an easy plan to stop him.
