Hough (11-3) at Mallard Creek (13-0), 7:30 p.m. (4AA playoffs): Hough running back Jarrett Nagy, who shredded Myers Park last week, gained only 28 yards in 10 carries Oct. 27 when the Huskies lost 41-7 to Mallard Creek. The Mavericks are coming off a stellar defensive performance in last week’s 9-5 squeaker over Greensboro Page.

Vance (11-3) at Harding (12-1), 7:30 p.m. (4A): Two high-powered offenses meet, with Vance QB Nigel Summerville having thrown for 2,900 yards this season and Harding RB Quavaris Crouch rushing for nearly 3,000 yards. Harding’s defense has been tough against passing attacks this season.

Sun Valley (11-3) at Asheville Reynolds (13-1), 7:30 p.m. (3AA): Two superb junior quarterbacks square off. The Spartans’ Sam Howell has thrown for 3,090 yards and 35 touchdowns (he missed 1½ games with an injury), and Reynolds’ Alex Flinn has 3,461 passing yards and 39 touchdowns.

Jay M. Robinson (12-2) at Charlotte Catholic (14-0), 7:30 p.m. (3A): The Bulldogs have averaged 40.6 points in their past five games. Catholic has allowed opponents 10 or fewer points in 10 of their 14 games. Something’s gotta give.

Shelby (12-2) at Lenoir Hibriten (14-0), 7:30 p.m. (2AA): Hibriten has outscored foes by an average of 44-4 this season, and RB McKinley Witherspoon has 1,861 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns. But Shelby has knocked off three straight powerful opponents in a bid for a fifth straight state title.

South Pointe (14-0) vs. Hartsville (13-1), 6:30 p.m. Saturday (S.C. 4A): The state title game at Williams-Brice Stadium has South Pointe seeking a fourth straight state crown. It’s a rematch of last season’s title game, which South Pointe won 51-28 behind four touchdown passes from Derion Kendrick. This will be Kendrick’s high school finale.
