Elevator
↑Joe McGoldrick, Queens Grant baseball: In his past two starts, McGoldrick, a pitcher, has thrown 13 innings, struck out 25, had two walks, given up two hits and allowed one earned run (more below).
↑Marvin Ridge batters: Mavericks baseball players Chandler Castleberry, Jason Curtis and Mark Glover had two hits each in a 16-3 win over Weddington Tuesday.
↑Katrina Cassel, Hough softball: pitched a complete game 1-hitter in a 5-0 win over North Meck. She struck out 13. When North threatened in the fourth, advancing runners to second and third with two outs, a Cassel strikeout ended the inning.
↑Lucy Pedlow, Charlotte Country Day girls lacrosse: five goals in a 13-3 win over Charlotte Latin.
Tuesday’s top performers
Jack Fletcher, Josh Lynch, Providence Day lacrosse: three goals each in a 13-12 loss to Cannon.
Casey Hewett, Charlotte Country Day softball: winning pitcher in a 9-4 win over Charlotte Latin was 3-for-4 at the plate with three doubles and an RBI.
Mary Elliott McCabe, Kassie Nielsen, Charlotte Latin girls soccer: two goals each in a 5-1 win over rival Charlotte Country Day.
Ashley Johnson, Hough girls soccer: two assists and a goal in a 9-0 win over A.L. Brown. Stephanie Westaway and Katie Easley split the shutout.
Allie Kennedy, Ardrey Kell softball: 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs ina 8-3 win over Charlotte Catholic. Knights pitcher Sterling Strickland threw a one-hitter.
Joe McGoldrick, Queens Grant baseball: pitched seven innings in a 3-2 win over Albemarle. He allowed one hit, no earned runs had 11 strikeouts and no walks. McGoldrick was also 3-for-4 batting.
Cydne Pennington, Charlotte Latin girls lacrosse: 15 saves in a 13-3 loss to Charlotte Country Day.
Keleigh Romine, Robinson softball: threw two-hitter in 7-0 win over Mallard Creek and struck out 11.
Davis Waldrop, Charlotte Christian baseball: 2-for-3 with a double and a home run in a 10-2 win over Charlotte Latin. Christian is 22-3, 12-0 in CISAA play.
